New Condo, New T.V!

My girl and I are signing a lease together on a brand new 1/1 Condo a little down the street from where we currently live. Our approval was finalized yesterday! Whoo Hoo! I have decided to apply the security deposit from my current place to a new T.V. I'm looking at a 42 inch LCD from either Samsung or Sony, anyone have any suggestions on what brands/kinds to buy just let me know.

Make sure it has a wonderful screen resolution. Anything less than 1600x1200 is pansy.

Awesome...

So far I found a Sony, Samsung, and a Westinghouse all for around $1,000. I'm trying to keep it around there.

After a little research it looks like I need to get a 1080P set, sort of becoming industry standard? Not sure, Looks like I'll be dropping around 2,000 now :(

oh well. 3 more weeks and its mine!
