Crisis (10:45 04/13/2006)
I believe that religion is for the weak minded people who perhaps cannot fend for themselves and turn to an alternative?
What do you people think? I do not wish to offend anyone so if this post does become offensive, Trouvist please delete it.
Crisis (12:31 04/13/2006)
What bothers me is people who say things like this. Ashley you and Jon are a wonderful couple but hes a Jew, you can't get to heaven without Jesus in your life so what do you plan on doing?
What the hell happaned to people? seriously??? I think that if we have people who really believe that we need to work on the general public of our country...I mean thats a completely brainwashed concept and its sickening.
Trouvist (02:49 04/13/2006)
Crisis, their idiocy can be compared to your own. Do not take that as an offensive comment or insult. Go look up exaclty what an American National is. You will realize that major parts of your live are brainwashed into you.
Crisis (03:24 04/13/2006)
No I realize that...but I am trying to discuss one part of peoples lives, not all parts. The discussion at hand is simply religion, so tell me...what do you think in brief please on the concept of highly religion people RUINING EVERYONES LIVES!!! (ok...a little dramatic I know, but please...speak your mind)
Crisis (03:35 04/13/2006)
Highly religious ******
Trouvist (03:37 04/13/2006)
I know that it does run many people's lives. But I also know that it is completely out of the mind of 90% of those people. Many don't really care, they just go so that other people think they care.
Crisis (04:07 04/13/2006)
What about people that literally believes its the most important thing on earth, they literally try and make everyone they come across believe what they believe...they dont want their family marrying different, sometimes even associating with different.
Do you believe those people are normal? Or completely F****** insane!?
Trouvist (01:18 04/16/2006)
Tedium, the only reason you hate Country Music is because you are too young to know good country music.
Crisis (08:24 04/17/2006)
That where your wrong, christians believe one thing and jews believe another, I myself believe that all of you are fucking insane and my people including theirs are completely and utterly wrong...but I also don't give a shit, let her follow what she wants just dont discuss it heavily with me...
religion should have nothing to do with love, and if it does that is where people need to start over...from the very beginning, or we are all going no where.
and country music is utter shit, I literally get sick when it is on...
Crisis (08:34 04/17/2006)
You cannot be emotionally intimate with someone whose paradigm is completely opposite to your own.
I disagree, I think people need to use their brains and use common sense and try to ignore the complete brainwashing they have recieved throughout their life and realize family should be before god, not this deranged bullshit of god coming first that our entire country has developed...completely fucking insane.
sorry for the words Trouvy, just delete my posts...I simply cannot stand religion and its complete nonsense. Sometimes I feel as if average people simply do not have the brain capacity to figure shit out on their own so they go to this concept of religion which literaly makes no sense what so fucking ever.
Crisis (10:06 04/17/2006)
agreed, and that is where people need to draw the line...live by ehtics and morals which any many of any breed can understand, no murder, theft, rape, that is fine...but draw the line somewhere around there, don't tell me I can't get to heaven because I don't believe is Jesus thats just fucking gross.
(not you caenwyn, I'm utterly upset and furious with this world when it comes to this subject and I get very deffensive and hurtful because I don't understand why our country isnt intelligent enough to get what I talk about)
Trouvist (06:59 04/17/2006)
Jon sir, you preach about how much you hate religion and in the past few days you have made numerous statements attesting to the fact that you are Jewish. But if you truly disliked religion, then you would denounce even Judaism. That is called hipocrisy.
As for Caenwyn, treating people nicely isn't the end all. If the entire goal of the religion was sacrifice of production for the happiness of the people, then we would all starve and smile at each other for it.
And Crisis, I tend to find that the people that bitch most about religions are the ones that want it the most.
Crisis (07:46 04/18/2006)
I don't want religion, rofl.
And the way judaism works is you are born Jewish...regardless of what you denounce and anti-semite or a natzi would slaughter you regardless of what you denounce. In my religion, you are born what you are...simply put, if you mother is Jewish so are you. So I might not believe anything but am still Jewish.
and I want religion whiped off the earth completely. Or for me to start my own LOL.
Crisis (03:33 04/18/2006)
Because this world consists of creatures who lack intelligence.
Caenwyn (11:35 04/13/2006)
I do agree that religion offers comfort in a cold world, and also a sense of understanding or a purpose for existence. The idea that we live and die with no meaning can be very, very frightening and depressing, so people turn to religion to find deeper meaning in the world.
I don't know what I think. Some days I'm ready to pronounce the whole mess a giant scam and some days I feel the pull of it. It's not an easy question to answer.
tedium (04:48 04/15/2006)
Far too many 'Christians' are completely missing the point. They have turned what should be all about the relationship into a huge debate about tradition and dogma. It's quite ironic that mainstream christianity has almost competely turned into the Catholic church that Luther was trying to reform.
The cool thing is, there are also people out there who see the ridiculous state of Christianity today for what it is, and attempt to do things quite differently.
The specific issue of marriage between religions is significant, although I'm sure many people are against it for entirely the wrong reasons. This is related to how many 'Christians' explain Christianity as a set of rules, and people like you are all 'f*** that!' When you were a child, your parents probably told you not to do a lot of things. Some of those rules were to protect you from pain. The issue of inter-religion marriage is similar. A persons theological, ideological, philosophical & moral beliefs govern that person's thoughts, action and life in general. If you believe there is no one god in the judeo/christian sense, then you cannot think about life as though there were. You may be able to pretend (and I'm sure many people do), but that's hardly healthy and you probably won't be able to keep it up your whole life.
My point is marriage (as it should be) is the most intimate (emotionally, intellectually & physically) relationship two people will ever have. You cannot be emotionally intimate with someone whose paradigm is completely opposite to your own. In the specific example you've given, Ashley believes that Jesus has already paid for the sins of the world & Jon believes Jesus has yet to make his first appearance. I think it may seem that this isn't a big deal. But you're talking about two belief systems that are almost completely opposed. Jews still live under the law, and Christians live under grace. The difference there is staggering if you think about it.
tedium (05:04 04/15/2006)
Too many people view religion as one aspect of their lives. Once again, you're talking about a belief system that should affect every single aspect of life for a person who believes it. If you're separating it, then you don't really believe it. The other problem with this, is that people think of religion as something you do on saturday or sunday. And in certain arguments this is appropriate, but religion is boring, dogmatic & generally makes people stupid. Christianity is not at all about religion. It's not at all about going to church, following rules or any of that sh*t that people usually associate Christianity with. They've got it wrong.
You must understand that to someone who genuinely believes that the world was created by God (in the judeo/christian sense) it is absolutely the most important thing on earth. To not share the joy they believe can be found in a relationship with Jesus would be criminal. The problem you have with this, is the method that people employ, and the fact that most of them are saying things like "join us, or go to hell". And you are yet another piece of living proof that this simply doesn't do a thing to make someone _want_ to become a Christian.
In my opinion, people who don't want to 'associate' with people of different religions need to be f***ing b****slapped. That's not religion, that's hate. And if there's one thing I hate, it's hate. And if there are two things I hate, the second is country music.
tedium (09:57 04/16/2006)
Actually, my mother & brother like country music, and I have heard old country music. I definately don't hate it as much as new country. That's the way they feel as well. But honestly, the only name I know is Johnny Cash. He was good people.
Caenwyn (09:52 04/17/2006)
Uhm. Okay. I think religion that is exclusive, judgemental and self-righteous is WRONG and STUPID. But religion that helps people get along and treat each other decently is good. So there.
Caenwyn (03:06 04/18/2006)
I just don't understand why people have to treat each other so horribly. Hate, killing, etc. Why?
